Alternate Pension & Benefit Trust

The Alternate Pension and Benefits Board accounts for the distribution of retirement benefits to beneficiaries covered under the Alternate Pension and Benefits Fund. This fund was primarily instituted to provide volunteer firefighters with some sort of retirement benefits. There are seven board members who meet annually and when issues arise that warrant a meeting. Of the seven members, three are ex-officio members consisting of the Fire Chief, the Mayor, and the Finance Director. The remaining four members are volunteer firefighters that are elected at-large by the department’s volunteer firefighters.
