The City of Cottonwood is excited to announce the second annual Brian Mickelsen Memorial Half-Marathon, 10K, and 2 mile Run/Walk on April 17, 2010 at Riverfront Park. Start time for the Half-Marathon is set for 7:30 a.m., the 10K is 7:45 a.m., and the 2 mile is 7:55 a.m. Day of registration will be from 6:15 to 7:00 am. The race’s name has changed from the Verde/Mingus Blowout to commemorate the beloved former City Manager Brian Mickelsen who tragically passed away while training for a Half-Marathon. For those who have traditionally run in the Verde/Mingus Blowout, the 10K course has not changed. The start and finish of all three Races are at Riverfront Park with all taking you into beautiful Dead Horse Ranch State Park.
